US Martial Arts Team
The US Martial Arts Team (USMAT) sends occasional text messages to registered member families and coaches who have opted in by texting JOIN to (213) 698-7628. USMAT never texts first. This page explains what we send, how to join, and how to stop.
What we send
Text messages from USMAT are operational, not promotional. They cover:
- Training and event reminders
- Schedule changes, cancellations, and venue changes
- Time-sensitive notices that require a response
- Membership and registration reminders
We do not send marketing or advertising by text.
How often
Infrequently. Most members receive fewer than two messages per month, and often none. We text when something is time-sensitive and email isn't fast enough.
Who receives messages
Text messages go only to people who have texted JOIN, and only if they are:
- Parents and guardians of registered USMAT athletes
- USMAT athletes aged 18 and over
- USMAT coaches
For athletes under 18, messages go only to the parent or guardian who texted JOIN, never directly to the athlete.

You'll receive training reminders, schedule changes, venue changes and time-sensitive team notices from the US Martial Arts Team. Message frequency varies — most members receive fewer than two messages per month. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to cancel, HELP for help.
You are not enrolled automatically. Membership in USMAT does not opt you in to text messages, and consent is not a condition of membership.
For athletes under 18, the parent or guardian texts JOIN and gives consent. Messages are never sent directly to a minor.

How to stop
Reply STOP to any message. You will receive one confirmation and no further texts.
Stopping text messages does not affect your USMAT membership, your registrations, or the emails we send.

Message and data rates
Message and data rates may apply. USMAT does not charge for text messages, but your mobile carrier may. Check with your carrier if you are unsure.
Carriers
Supported carriers include AT&T, Verizon Wireless, T-Mobile, Sprint, Boost, U.S. Cellular, MetroPCS, and others. Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.
Your information
Mobile numbers that text JOIN are used only to send the messages described on this page. We do not sell, rent, or share mobile numbers or consent information with third parties for marketing purposes.
Numbers are handled in accordance with our Privacy Policy.
